GO Cross kicks off 36-event Pro CX Calendar.

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Virginia’s Blue Ridge GO Cross presented by Deschutes Brewery will take place this Labor Day weekend in Fallon Park in Roanoke, Va. is the home of Virginia’s only permanent cyclocross course. The event kicks off the 2019 American UCI cyclocross season and 2019 Pro Cyclocross Calendar (Pro CX).

Last year’s Pro CX individual titles were won by Kerry Werner (Advance, N.C.; Kona-Shimano) and Ellen Noble (Kennebunkport, Maine; Trek Factory Racing). This year’s Pro CX calendar will feature 38 races, starting this weekend in Virginia and ending on December 8th with two C2 race weekends: Resolution Cup in Dallas (Garland), Texas and NBX GP of Cross in Warwick, R.I.

“GO Cross introduces competitors from around the nation and world to our vibrant cycling community in support of our integrated economic development strategy,” said Pete Eshelman, director of the Roanoke Outside Foundation, which puts on the event.

One of the major highlights of the event includes equal payouts to male and female cyclists from the $12,650 GO Cross purse. The unique payout structure supports a growing movement in professional cycling.

Virginia’s Blue Ridge GO Cross has many off-the bike activities include the Deschutes Brewery craft beer garden, food trucks, yard games, prize drawings and a beer relay with RunAbout Sports (anyone 21 and up can register for a team). Racers and spectators can even take a dip in Fallon Park Pool.
